Stan Adell Career Biography
Stan Adell is recognized as
a computer graphics pioneer and innovator in the Kansas City area.
He has served in various management roles and is presently the Manager
of Interactive Communications for DST
Output, a full-service business solutions provider
owned by DST Systems.
Stan began his communications career in 1980 at Bendix/King
Radio Corporation, where he was promoted to Art
Department Supervisor and established a successful corporate
art department which is widely regarded as a computer graphics
success story. After conducting extensive research of emerging
in-house publishing and computer graphic design systems, Stan
foresaw the impact computers would have on the design industry.
He purchased his first graphics workstation 1984 and has been
successfully integrating computer technology ever since.
In 1986, Stan created On-Line Design,
a successful design studio and service bureau, and in 1988 merged
with Network Graphics, Inc. Since being acquired by DST
Systems, Inc. and becoming DST Output,
the company has evolved into a premier computer-based design studio
and printing company, winning many awards and honors. Clients have
included Apple Computer, AT&T, Allied-Signal Corporation, H&R
Block, Hallmark Cards, HNTB, Ford Motor Company, Kodak, Lee Company,
Sprint, American Century Investors, Marion Labs (Hoechst Marion
Roussel), Western Auto, Worlds of Fun, City of Olathe ( Kansas
), Johnson County ( Kansas ), and many others. The company is frequently
used as a demonstration resource and as a test site for various
hardware and software vendors.
Stan’s technical knowledge and extensive experience have
empowered him to conduct training sessions and seminars for many
computer user groups and companies. Industry honors include articles
published in various computer publications and the selection of
a design project for inclusion with a major software vendor.
Professional affiliations to keep up with rapidly-changing technology
include CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) Charter
Member, Internet Society (ISOC) Member, Authorized Adobe Imaging
Center, Apple Professional Solutions Network member, Quark Authorized
Service Bureau; Quark Service Plus member, Macromedia Authorized
Imaging Center (MAGIC), among others.
Stan has completed numerous management leadership training programs
and computer courses. He is a CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster)
Professional Site Designer and has received the CompTIA
A+ and CompTIA I-Net+ Certifications.
Stan uses his unique organizational, technical and artistic skills to design and manage on-line and technical communications. He has also taught Computer Graphics and Web Design courses at MidAmerica
Nazarene University .
